Our Activies
The Sanctuary’s roads are well maintained to make them suitable for self-drive game viewing in four and two-wheel drive bakkies. Buy a copy of the map at the Entrance Gate and follow the signs to find your way round the Sanctuary. Basic binoculars are available to hire and the friendly staff can help answer your questions about the Sanctuary.
Game Drives
Game viewing can be can be done either using our safari vehicles, using your own 4 by 4 or hiring our guide to accompany you in your own vehicle. The Sanctuary’s roads are well maintained and sign- posted making them suitable for self-drives around the Park. Booked drives using our vehicles start at 6am, while in the afternoon it’s at 4pm and night drives start at 7pm, which take two (2) hours, during which are well trained and knowledgeable guides will be at your service. This activity affords one the chance for possible viewing of animals such as black rhino, leopard, caracal, porcupine and brown hyena as well as the most frequently sighted animals such as the white rhino, zebra, blue wildebeest, giraffe, eland and kudu
Rhino Tracking
When undertaking rhino tracking which is very interesting and adventurous, one will get to track rhinos by following on its tracks and learning a few tricks about the wild. The activity is ONLY done in the mornings starting at 0600hrs, accompanied by our qualified guide. The purpose of this activity is not to only find the rhinos, but to also learn some survival techniques and habits that these animals have adopted in their evolution.it requires one to wear protective and bush coloured clothing, done by persons between 16 and 60 years of age and may be done by groups of eight (8) people at a time
Nature walk
If you feel like a car trip does not do you justice, you can talk nature walks around the Sanctuary. Here you will get to see small animals that you hardly see when you are in a car, but bear in mind that ALL animals are potentially dangerous. This activity also starts at 0600hrs in the mornings, and appropriate footwear and bush coloured clothes are essential. Only persons aged between 16 and 60years may participate, in groups of eight (8) people at a time.
Self Drive
For those interested in making their way around the
sanctuary on their own, maps are available at the entrance gate and signs are
posted throughout or you can hire our well trained and very knowledgeable Rangers, who will guide you around the sanctuary in your own vehicle. The activity lasts for only 2 hours.
Giraffe Tracking
As for giraffe tracking, one will be following and tracking giraffes, while learning a few tricks about the wild. The activity starts at 0600hrs in the morning and requires one to wear appropriate foot wear and bush based colours. Only persons aged between 16 and 60 years may participate, in a group of eight (8) people at a time.
Enviromental Education
It is a facility comprising of conference hall, student and teachers accommodation and campsite for students. The EEC is charged with the responsibility of providing courses for Local, National International and community groups. It is also tasked with introducing and extending the awareness and knowledge in areas of conservation and environmentalism to the community at large
