Accommodation & Hospitality

Khama Rhino Sanctuary has a variety of accommodation facilities. We have facilities that are ideal for a family, individuals and for a group. We also have campsites that are ideal for anybody that wants to experience solitude and the sounds of the wild

Chalet Facility

There are seven chalets to choose from located in different areas. Bedding &towels, braai facilities, bar fridge and electric kettle will be provided for all the chalet

There are 7 chalet, 1 family enclave and 12 dormitories/ apartments.

  • Chalet A & B are located at Makongwa camp; sleeps two (2) people in one room and holding one double bed.
  • Chalet C & D are located at the Makongwa camp; sleeps four (4) people (2 in each room holding two (2) twin beds).
  • Chalet F & G are located by the Restaurant area; sleeps four (4) people (2 in each room holding two (2) twin beds).
  • Family enclave which is mainly suited for couples, is located at the Makongwa camp with an oversight of a waterhole for animals, sleeping four (4) people in each room that has its own bathroom and a double bed in each. The enclave has a living room and kitchen.
Camping

There are 22 campsites, including sites for large groups. 

The central feature of each site is a large Mokongwa tree which provides both character and shade. There is also a fireplace, braai stand with grill, and tap with birdbath. The campsites are served by two communal ablution blocks. All our campsites have no power points.

Apartments

Our dorms can accommodate up to 48 participants in two separate blocks each having four rooms with 6 bunk beds. We also have a block for facilitators with 4 rooms which can accommodate up to 2 teachers each

Restaurant
Open from 6Am to 10Pm

Our restaurant is open to delight day visitors, chalet guests and campers with a variety of tasty traditional dishes as well as delicious regular items. We also have a swimming pool, which is ideal for cooling and refreshing. The pool is cleaned regularly by our dedicated team

Curio Shop
Open from 7am to 7pm

We have a curio shop that sells various local crafts, books, maps, souvenirs and postcards. Wood for fires and braais can be bought here, as well as ice, cold drinks and basic provisions.

Picnic site

An excellent spot for day-visitors to relax and enjoy the peace of the Sanctuary. You can make use of seating, tables, water and braai-stands for your picnic. There is no charger for picnic site
