Khama Rhino Sanctuary (KRS), is a community based wildlife project situated in the Central
District of Botswana, roughly 30km from Serowe en-route to Letlhakane (Orapa)
and about180km from Orapa before Paje village on the A14 road. The Sanctuary was established in 1992
to assist in saving the vanishing rhinoceros, restore an area formerly teeming
with wildlife to its previous natural and to provide economic benefits to the
local Botswana community through tourism and the sustainable use of available
natural resources.
Covering approximately 8585 hectares of Kalahari Sandveld, KRS provides prime habitat
for the white and the black rhino, as well as over 30 animal species that
excludes the lion, buffalo and elephant, also reptiles that include an active snake life but exists freely in the world and more than 230 species of birds as per the different seasons of the year.
As a game lodge with emphasis on conservation and environmental issues, we offer tourism and leisure activities, accommodation facilities, dining experiences, shopping endeavours, conference and team building packages, environmental education to educational groups and provide a hub for environmental based researches
